1. Planning Engineer
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to oversee planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring of building construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure project timelines are met, resources are effectively allocated, and progress is tracked and reported in accordance with contractual and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Prepare baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, recovery plans, and project cash flows.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to collect progress data and incorporate into schedule updates.
- Identify critical paths, project risks, and bottlenecks propose mitigation plans.
- Track and analyze delays, variations, and deviations from the schedule.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of project planning with budget, resources, and contractual timelines.
- Conduct resource planning and forecasting (manpower, materials, equipment).
- Support in claims preparation and extension of time (EOT) submissions.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5–8 years of proven experience in planning and scheduling of building construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, project execution, and sequencing.
- Familiarity with contractual terms (FIDIC knowledge is a plus).
- Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- GCC experience is preferred.
2. Estimation Engineer - Civil
To prepare accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing project requirements, reviewing drawings and specifications, and applying engineering knowledge. The Estimation Engineer plays a crucial role in the pre-contract stage, supporting business development and bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil, or architectural works as applicable.
- Request and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for pricing.
- Liaise with procurement and engineering departments to gather pricing information and technical inputs.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to gather project-specific data.
- Develop and maintain cost databases and estimation tools.
- Prepare tender documents, pricing sheets, and BOQs in coordination with the tendering team.
- Assist in technical and commercial bid submissions.
- Identify risks, discrepancies, and opportunities in bid documents.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Prepare project budgets, cash flows, and cost monitoring reports as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–6 years of experience in cost estimation within construction, infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local market pricing.
- Proficiency in estimation software such as AutoCAD, Candy, CCS, or Excel-based models.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and BOQs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of tendering procedures and contract conditions (FIDIC is a plus).
