1. SIMULATOR SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Performance-EN
As a Simulator Support Specialist – Performance, you will be responsible for activities in the following areas:
- Support the Flight Simulator Training Devices for all QTG issues: Point of contact for the customer and the TCOPS team for QTG complex issues, provide technical support for complex issues, provide On-the-Job training to fellow team members. Correct, validate and tune QTG related deficiencies.
- Accountable for QTG configuration control on all Training Devices. Debug, identify and actively participate in solving complex issues. Develop, implement, test, integrate, & present fixes on all simulators. Monitor SimHub/Simissues for updates & coordinate with CAE Customer Service to follow-up on all QTG critical issues. Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record, track, review, update, & monitor deficiencies and other maintenance activities assigned to the specialists.
- Participate in project reviews in support of the customer for new FSTD installations and/or updates. Provide support to the CAE Inc team during installations and updates in terms of software integration, performance-QTG, and/or hardware requirements. Interact & work closely with customers, engineers, & NAAs. As applicable, be involved in the acceptance process, including the review & acceptance of the initial Master QTG. As applicable, be the main point of contact for the relevant authorities for recurrent evaluations, post evaluation status reports, and general authority related communications.
- Possible international travel to support the other TCOPS within the CAE network, to support snag clearance efforts at customer sites, and/or to participate in FSTD installations or updates.
- Participate in team technical meetings, weekly meetings with the customer, and SLA review meetings with CAE upper management and/or the customer.
- Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work
- As applicable, be the main point of contact to the relevant Authorities for all QTG related issues for all simulators.
- Flexible working hours to fit simulator availability. Off the roster, weekday shifts mainly. Possible Roster shift work on temporary basis to replace vacation or sickness leaves when required.
- Interact with customers, other engineers, Authorities and air crews.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering with minimum of 5+ Years related experience as QTG/Performance Engineer.
- Strong knowledge in QTG (running, tuning, validation, writing scripts, troubleshooting, etc…)
- Knowledge of CAE software and applications including but not limited to CAELIB, STARTEAM, Strive framework, Visual Systems, SIM XXI, Simfinity, Launchpad, ITMS.
- Strong knowledge of Flight Aerodynamics and Aircraft systems.
- Strong knowledge of local and International Regulations (EASA), with demonstrated experience, as they pertain to Flight Simulation Training Devices.
- Knowledge of C, C++ and FORTRAN programming languages and scripting languages (Perl).
- Knowledge of Microsoft development tools for Windows platform (Visual Studio 6.0 and higher).
- Self-motivated, dynamic, team player.
- Strong planning and organizational skill. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology.
- Demonstrate flexibility and strong project and assigned tasks ownership as well as ability to work and make decisions unsupervised.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Result-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good Knowledge of Windows Environment and PC hardware.
- Knowledge of simulated systems and the interface with Aircraft instruments and avionics.

2. Flight Simulator Support Technical Assistant
About The Role
We are looking to hire a Flight Simulator engineering apprentice to join our team and develop themselves to become a Flight Simulator Engineer, part of a team responsible for the ongoing Maintenance of our flight simulators at our Doha operation. In this role you this role you will perform routine Flight Simulator Training Device (FSTD) support technical tasks, under supervision from FSTD Support Engineer. You will receive training on the various aspects of FSTD Support technical work. You will be working alongside a team of 20 engineers to ensure that all Training Devices are maintained as per their qualification standard and in line with quality guidelines and procedures. In addition to the defined job functions, may also be required to carry out other duties that may be reasonably required for the smooth operation of the Training Center Operation (TCOPS).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program under the mentorship of an assigned FSTD Support Generalist(s).
- Acquire basic familiarity and knowledge on all aspects of FSTD support technical work with a focus on the completion of routine activities, such as the Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs), Daily Readiness (DR), & Aircraft Database updates on the various training devices in the operation.
- After completing the OJT program, perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs), Daily Readiness (DR), Recurrent QTG runs, Aircraft Database updates, & IOS Lesson Plan (LP) updates on the training devices & associated systems. The more complex PMTs & QTGs are performed under the supervision of a FSTD Support Generalist. Keep the associated records up to date. Action deficiencies associated with these tasks.
- Accountable to maintain, keep track, and request consumable items and tools required to perform the Preventive Maintenance Tasks and Daily Readiness.
- After completing the OJT program, perform low level troubleshooting of issues on the training devices, using schematics, and aircraft/device system documentation.
- Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record, track, review, & update deficiencies & maintenance activities.
- Support logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, packing and preparation for shipping, etc… Perform housekeeping and administrative functions, or other tasks as reasonably required.
- Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.
About You
- Must hold a Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Field.
- Candidate must be already resident in Doha with existing rights to work
- Good knowledge of the English Language, both spoken and written.
- Able to work flexible shifts (including Night shift) and adapt to changing work schedules and shift patterns.
- Basic understanding of Electro-Mechanical Terminology.
- Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to Electro-Mechanical systems.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc…)
- Basic knowledge of computer networking.
- No prior work experience required – fresh graduates are welcomed!
