Emergency Medicine - General Practitioner
Emergency room doctors treat all the patients who come through the ER door, regardless of their illness or injury type etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Triage and assess patients that enter the emergency room immediately.
· Respond to code blue calls.
· Conduct follow-up visits to monitor the patient’s condition and oversee patient’s recovery.
· Request the appropriate medical tests and develop an effective care plan based on the results.
· Ensure that the care plan is delivered by the emergency team.
· Refer patients to the appropriate specialists.
· Ensure that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
· Provide instructions for discharge and any relevant paperwork.
· Maintain the patient’s medical records.
· Comply with the code of ethics.
· To ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that minimizes delays for patients and possible disruption of services.
· Participates fully in quality improvement activities and other medical staff activities as assigned within the hospital.
· Observance of professional ethical obligations.
· Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Chief Medical officer.
· Covering inpatient shifts as a Hospitalist if assigned.
Respond immediately to inpatient ward calls for urgent and emergency cases
