1. Nuclear Medicine Technologist II
Under the direction of the Supervisor – Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform the operational activities pertaining to the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging services ensuring that a high-quality, cost-effective service is delivered to patients, parents, and Physicians Users. S/He will be responsible for the effective application of different forms of energy to safely and accurately produce clinical images of the body anatomy and function for diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional purposes and the assessment and evaluation of such images to aid the health care provider to assess and manage diseases, injuries and treatments.
Also, s/he will supervise junior staff and participate in training of Radiology staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, prioritizes, and organizes Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging workload, ensuring the necessary patient care is provided to patients of all ages.
- Ensures that systems and standards that promote patient safety and safe practices for delivering patient care for the modality are adhered to as directed.
- Provides modality expertise in reference to the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging service and assists in the maintenance and development of the services.
- Works independently, performs all routine and specialized Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging procedures, and associated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in the rostered area.
- Prepares, dispenses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with policy and procedure for use in diagnostic nuclear medicine and molecular imaging studies.
- Acts independently in the assessment of referrals for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging examinations, taking full responsibility to reduce unnecessary ionizing radiation exposure of patients and utilizing skills to assess a patient’s condition, often acute, and decide on an appropriate method to obtain a diagnostic image from a range of options.
- Participates in standby and on call roster systems for the Diagnostic Imaging service, in imaging areas appropriate to training and qualifications, as designated by senior staff.
- Provides support and relief for Department supervisor as required.
- Supports the Supervisor - Molecular Imaging / Nuclear Medicine to manage and maintain a high level of expertise and reduce faults/issues effectively to guarantee the safe operations of the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging equipment, ensuring an efficient flow and optimal utilization of resources.
- Adheres to departmental and applicable organizational policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging patient care team.
2. Patient Care Assistant
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA), under the direction of a licensed care giver, and after education and demonstration of competency, performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks specific to the unit/needs of the patient population. S/He maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. S/He can identify safety concerns in the age-related population, report finding to registered nurse, institute additional measures to provide a safe environment, and identify developmental milestones in the age-related population.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and reports findings to the registered nurse.
- Participates in the implementation of patient care and contributes to the plan under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Assists with the collection of lab specimens.
- Present for the safety and comfort of patients, families, and significant others.
- Reduces the risk of health care acquired infection by complying with current standard precaution guidelines and isolation policy.
- Communicates patient’s needs to nurses and doctors as appropriate.
- Prepares patients for procedures as directed by the registered nurse or physician and prepares patient rooms and stretchers as necessary and required.
- Provides therapeutic communication, re-direction, reality orientation, effective motivation of patients to participate in activities and adequate observations to assure safety.
- Takes responsibility for reporting problems and/or patient complaints.
- Provides patient safety and comfort by utilizing resources and materials to safely transport patients using age-appropriate methods and equipment, answer patients’ requests, and report observations of the patient to charge nurse or RN.
- Ensures environmental cleanliness in patient rooms and patient care areas.
- Accompanies patients for any tests/procedures if necessary.
- Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) if required.
- Assists patient mobilization and out of stretcher activities if required.
- Participates in all initiatives that assist in reducing the risk of patient harm by following safety precautions.
3. Ward Clerk
Under the general supervision of a licensed caregiver, the Ward Clerk will coordinate the administrative functions of the nursing department. The Ward Clerk works in collaboration with other departments to maintain adequate supplies and track the status of equipment repairs.
The Ward Clerk demonstrates effective communication and customer service skills with patients, family members, physicians, and other medical center departments in compliance with the medical center's customer service goals. The Ward Clerk performs various administrative activities or tasks specific to the unit needs, acting as a receptionist for the department, answering and relaying patient calls, and accepting and relaying other communications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greets all visitors to the unit and assumes responsibility for responding to customer requests.
- Performs all clerical/administrative functions necessary to process and maintain medical records. Responsible for assisting with inventory control of operational and unit specific forms, medical record forms, and office supplies.
- Maintains logs of equipment and repairs. Liaisons with other departments to ensure necessary repairs are scheduled and accomplished in a timely manner.
- Enters patient information into patient call light system and responds to patient calls and routes requests to staff.
- Performs ADT tasks.
- Reduces the risk of patient harm resulting from falls – communicates patient requests in a timely manner to registered nurse.

5. Clinical Nurse 1
Provides nursing care in an effective and safe manner to a select group of patients and families, carries out established nursing regimes, and plans of nursing care under the guidance of a preceptor or other designated RN.
The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Nursing/Midwifery Competency Framework and Scope of Practice. Nursing job duties are to meet the Joint Commission International and the Plan of Care Policy, and other regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies outcomes with regard to patient care delivery and timely care.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by QCHP, and other governing agency regulations.
- Provides basic assessment skills to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics
- Delivers safe and appropriate patient care to a specific patient population using nursing process.
